Valero, based in San Antonio, is also a leading ethanol producer. It has seven plants in the Midwest, which it acquired in March from bankrupt VeraSun Energy for $477m.
Grease is the word for joint venture
Darling International and Valero Energy are forming a joint venture to produce 10,000 barrels a day of renewable diesel from waste grease at a new plant.
