If approved, the $135mn conversion would give its Plant Mitchell, located near Albany, Georgia, name-plate capacity to generate 96 Megawatts and make it the country’s largest biomass generator, industry sources say.
The US largest biomass plant is Dominion’s 80 MW Pittsylvania Power Station at Hurt, Virginia.
The Georgia Public Service Commission will take public comments on the request to convert the Plant Mitchell plant this week.
