By adding TM242 to their production process, ethanol producers can boost their yields by around 15%. In effect, they get more ethanol from a given amount of corn, thus hedging themselves against fluctuations in grain prices.
Flagship that can stand the heat
TMO Renewables' flagship microbe strain - TM242, originally derived from forest-leaf litter - is especially valuable, as it is commercially applicable in the production of first- as well as second-generation biofuels.
