Evogene has notified the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange that the reason for the break-up is a failure to obtain licences to import castor-oil plant seeds to Namibia.
However, the Israeli company says it will not stop all efforts in the area, and will seek to grow castor oil plants in North and South America.
Evogene, Ormat and Leviev set up the joint venture in Namibia in September 2008.
