The EU expert panel is understood to have indicated it is in favour of going ahead with proposals from the European Commission to impose provisional duties initially for four months.

One official said that the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties would be introduced from 13 March and range from 26 euros ($32.62) to 41 euros ($51.45) per 100 kilogrammes.

The plan will impose provisional tariffs on such US biodiesel producers as Archer Daniels Midland and Cargill.
