Ethanol demand in October also averaged a record 767,000bpd, up from 692,000 a year ago, according to Energy Information Administration, the statistical arm of the US Energy Department. In the first nine months of 2009, ethanol demand averaged 687,000bpd, trade group Renewable Fuels Association estimates.
Fuel ethanol imports were 8.65 million gallons in October and fuel ethanol stocks were 19.7 days of reserve.
