The $52m plant will produce 330,000 tons of wood pellets annually from more than 600,000 tons of raw wood supplies, according to Enviva chief executive John Keppler. “When it is complete, this facility will have a global impact by helping our customers reduce their greenhouse gas emissions,” he says.

Output will go to help fill a 480,000 ton a year wood pellet supply contract that the company signed in August with utility Electrabel of Belgium.
