Suncor is delaying for an unspecified time a project aimed at doubling capacity at St Clair. With high feedstock and construction costs, the company wants to build up cash reserves. "The project has not been cancelled. What we've done is deferred the next phase of construction," says a spokeswoman. The distillery continues to operate at its current capacity of 200 million litres per year.
Canadians put plans on ice
