Husky, based in Calgary, is the largest ethanol producer in Western Canada. It operates two, 130 million liter a year ethanol plants: one in Minnedosa, Manitoba, and the other in Lloydminister, Saskatchewan.

Both plants utilize non-food feed-grade wheat as primary feedstock in contrast to the US, where corn predominates. They each take in 350,000 metric tons of grain a year.

"By investing in this project, we are helping to create and sustain local jobs and economic opportunities while encouraging a healthier environment for all Canadians," says Vic Toews, president of the Treasury Board, a committee of six cabinet ministers that is in charge of operation of much of the Canadian government.

The
