Areva will handle design, construction and commissioning of the plant, and supply all equipment except the boiler.
The biomass-fuelled cogeneration unit will include a 12MW power plant. It will supply electricity and heat for the southeastern French city of Pierrelatte as well as the nuclear station.
District heating network operator Coriance, which placed the order, expects the plant to be up and running in the fourth quarter of 2012.
