The grant was awarded by the Clean Energy Research Programme (CERP) under the government’s Clean Energy Programme Office (CEPO) to accelerate research and development efforts to help drive Singapore’s growth in the clean energy industry.
One of the research aims is to develop more cost effective solar energy systems, in terms of solar cells, module and production efficiency.
In recent years, there has been progress in this area through the use of thinner wafers, advanced manufacturing equipment enabling higher production rates, and thin-film modules with improved efficiency.
