Petroenergy, an oil exploration company which ventured into the renewable energy sector in 2009, has installed wind meteorological masts to record data for its technical study, which has been under way for four months.
The two wind farm projects of 30MW each are located in Sual, Pangasinan and Nabas, Aklan.
Initial data from the technical study recorded wind speeds comparable to those in commercial wind farms – in the range of about six to seven metres per second on average over an entire year.
