AMSC India will have a head office in Delhi and a service office in Pune to serve both the wind energy and power grid markets.
“India is beginning to tap into its renewable energy resources and is making significant investments to vastly improve the throughput and reliability of its power grid,” states Greg Yurek, AMSC chief executive and founder.
A new report from the Global Wind Energy Council and Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association suggests wind could serve 24% of India’s electricty demand by 2030.
