Malakoff will spend A$650m ($603m) to acquire Meridian Energy’s 50% stake in Macarthur in the southern state of Victoria, says the Australian.
The wind farm is operated by AGL Energy, which owns the remaining share.
Macarthur, which comprises 140 Vestas V112-3MW turbines is the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest wind farm. It was officially opened in April.
