Shi Lishan, the National Energy Administration’s (NEA’s) deputy director of renewable energy, told the China Wind Power 2013 conference that problems such as grid curtailment and lack of standards had made it “almost impossible to ensure smooth development” of the sector.
“We have potential, but we need to address problems,” said Shi.
“Quality control is a big problem, but I think wind has a very promising future,” said Shi.
