Over the past few weeks, the future of the RET - which currently aims to ensure 20% of electricity comes from renewable sources by 2020, the equivalent of 41 terawatt hours - has been discussed without reaching a result, as the government argues that the target should be scaled back to about 26TWh, or what it calls a "real 20%".
