Tokuyama, a major silicon producer, aims to help drive a reduction of PV product prices through the strategic partnership.It declined to reveal the terms of the non-equity tie-up.
“We believe 1366's direct wafer technology will encourage thespread of silicon PV and eventually expand demand for polysilicon,” Tokuyamaspokesperson Miwa Shimoozaki tells Recharge. “We do not (yet know the)precise distribution of the roles between the two companies.”
