NED invested roughly 10bn Thai baht ($334m) to construct the PV plant in Lopburi province, north of Bangkok. The installation features 640,000 of Sharp’s thin-film modules.

It is still scouting locations in Nahkon Ratchasima province, northeast of the Thai capital, to set up a 20MW wind farm after five years of development work, The Nation reports.

NED is an equal three-way venture between a unit of CLP Holdings, independent power producer Egco, and Mitsubishi subsidiary Diamond Generating Asia.
