The plant in the city of Sakura will feature 70,000 moduleson a 33-hectare site.
Honda does not specify an equipment supplier but says itwants to start selling power from the plant in 2015.
The PV project is part of a major new automotive testing facilitythat Honda will build in Sakura, including a 4km high-speed test-track.
In April Honda revealed plans to develop a 27MW wind farm in Brazil.
