The analysis by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) says this increase compared with the same period of 2013 will contribute to a “bounceback” this year in the overall levels of investment after two years of seeing them fall.
However, the figures show that the third quarter of 2014 was slightly weaker than the second quarter - down from $65.2bn to $55bn.
