GCL-Poly expects a loss of HK$330m ($42.6m) for the first six months of 2012, following a full-year loss of HK$3.39bn last year.

The company blames the low price of polysilicon and wafers, as well as impairments and provisions made against its inventory, accounts receivables and production facilities, for the loss.
