Fotowatio Renewable Ventures is receiving A$101m ($94m) from the Australian Renewable Energy Association for the $164m project in northern New South Wales.
The plant will deliver an estimated 130 local jobs during construction.
Spanish EPC group Elecnor has been contracted to build the park, which is due to be operational in the second quarter of next year.
In a first for large-scale solar in Australia, the plant uses a single-axis horizontal tracking system, in which almost 233,000 panels will follow the sun across the sky to maximise output.
