Under the program, residential customers can generate a maximum 25-kilowatts of electricity during the day with a 2,000-kilowatt cap for a non-residential facility.

The Utah Public Service Commission issued an order on February 12, increasing Rocky Mountain Power's cap for total net metering generating capacity in Utah to 20 percent of its 2007 peak demand (or 923 megawatts), beginning April 1, 2009.
