If approved by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, PECO would become the state’s first utility to purchase and bank renewable solar credits.
Utility officials estimate 6MW of solar energy would power nearly 1,000 homes for 10 years. It could result in the same environmental benefit as planting more than 48,000 acres of trees or not driving more than 133 million miles, they said.
