``Our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions – that time has surely passed, Obama said in a jab at the man he replaced, former President George W. Bush, who listened to the speech on the podium along with the Washington political establishment.
``Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and begin the work of remaking America,’’ he told a crowd that police estimated at one million people in the National Mall.
