The plant has a nominal production capacity of 5mn gallons a year, which can be expanded to as much as 50mn gallons a year to support growth in demand for renewable biofuel.
The company has agreements to sell 1.7mn gallons of biofuel a year from the plant to Dynegy and 220,000 gallons a year to the state of Massachusetts.
It is also conducting test burns with other leading independent energy producers as well as large commercial and industrial users.
