Erenice Guerra and her sons are accused of seeking payments from companies doing business with the government, according to local reports. Guerra is a former aide to presidential candidate Dilma Rousseff, who stepped down from the post of Lula's chief of staff earlier this year to run for her boss's job. Rousseff leads the race for the presidency.
The Folha de São Paulo newspaper reports that a solar project proposed by EDRB do Brasil had been stalled for several years until the company was told by Guerra's office to call Capital Consultoria, a consulting company owned by one of Guerra's sons.
