Brian Roach, chief executive of Northeast Biofuels, says Sunoco will assume control of the plant sometime in late June. He noted that some of losing bidders reportedly were planning to dismantle the facility if it were sold to them.
The plant was unable to reach full 100mn gallon a year production capacity due to design flaws involving pipking between the corn milling equipment and the fermentation vessels.
