Changing World Technologies, based in West Hempstead, N.Y., filed for Chapter 11 protection Wednesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
In a statement, the parent company said the bankruptcy filing will give it time under court supervision to reorganize its business and locate new capital ``"to fund its operations going forward and to move ahead with its expansion strategy.’’
