Clipper officials say that the loss reflects $235m in charges to repair cracks in the blades of some of its turbines, and lower than expected revenues from turbine sales due to late grid interconnections at customers’ sites.
The cracks in the skin of the turbine blades are about six meters from the blade root, with the component supplier covering part of the repair cost.
