The closed loop photobioreactor – used to cultivate photosynthetic organisms like algae -- will take emissions from smokestacks to grow the lipid-rich organisms for biofuels.

The closed loop photobioreactor will be built on land owned by the famed Amargosa Opera House at Death Valley Junction, California.

Dennis Fisher, BioCentric Energy’s president, said the location is ideal for cultivating algae, due in part to an underground aquifer just three feet below the surface.

That
