Preliminary bidding rules for the two-round tender have been published and companies have until 30 October to declare interest in participating.
The tender will conclude in late January 2016, followed by the signing of contracts after April.
In addition to wind, solar and 312GWh of biomass, Peru wants to contract 450GWh of small hydro with up to 20mw of capacity.
The price cap will be announced on November 7.
