The last audit by Brazilian development bank BNDES certified six of Impsa’s machines under the new local-content rules set down by the bank to qualify for cheap financing for developers.

Unveiled at the end of last year, the new framework aims to progressively increase locally-made components in manufacturers’ supply chains, with complete compliance necessary by January 2016.

While most of its competitors are striving to comply with BNDES rules, Impsa loudly boasts that it was the first turbine-maker to meet them – and to have done so as long ago as two years ago.
