McEntee replaces long-serving renewables head Vic Abate, who has moved to lead GE’s thermal products division.
McEntee has been with the US industrial giant for 15 years, holding a number of senior roles.
Before taking up her new post she was president & CEO of Flow & Process Technologies, a division of GE Oil & Gas.
She moved to the renewable energy operation this month, and is based in Schenectady, New York.
