Under a 2011 contract worth C$470m ($446.5m), TransCanada will purchase each project after it begins commercial operations and certain milestones are met. Canadian Solar is developing and building the projects with 86MW combined capacity, and is utilizing its solar panels.
The projects have 20-year power purchase agreements with the Ontario Power Authority. They will be located in southern and northeastern Ontario, the most populous province in Canada.
