The net loss was $102.9m, or $0.45 per share, versus $77.2m, or $0.33 per share, a year earlier. Sales were down at $401.3m compared with $808.4m.

Results were also weaker than the first quarter’s $89.4m net loss and $443.6m in sales.

SunEdison chief executive Ahmad Chatila says that second quarter business conditions remained challenging, although there was some improvement in performance in the solar material segment.
