TheMineirão stadium, in Minas Gerais state, now boasts a 1.42MW capacity provided by 6,000 PVmodules on its roof.
It willfeed 900 households, while the arena itself will require 10% of the output.
TheGerman development bank KfW financed 80% of the project, which began last December.
Duringthe World Cup, the 62,547-capacity stadium will host six matches, including a semi-final. InJune this year, it will host three matches of the Confederations Football Cup.
