Corbell said the ACT government is already “well on track” to achieving its current target of 90% of its power to come from renewables by 2020.
The minister said through large-scale wind and solar auctions the government would achieve its 60% renewables target by 2017 and 80% by 2018.
ACT’s chief minister Andrew Barr told Labor’s annual conference at the weekend that renewables jobs had grown by 400% in the ACT over the past five years and the new target would create even more related employment.
