The clean energy sector in Australia and far beyond hailed a landslide election victory for the heavily pro-renewables Labor Party in Victoria, which has some of the country’s biggest ambitions in wind and solar.
The incumbent Labor administration easily beat off a challenge from the Liberal Party, which had pledged to scrap ambitious renewable energy goals put in place by its opponent.
