Vermont has two operating wind farms totalling 46MW, two under construction and three others in the pre-construction phase.
The 36-3 vote by the Northeastern Vermont Development Association (NVDA) is aimed at installations of turbines with heights exceeding 200 feet (60.9-metres), or those placed by private developers on forested mountain ridgelines, which have the best wind resource in that region of the state.
