The 70MW Calipatria, 50MW Midway 1 and 155MW Midway 2 projects are all slated for completion in 2013 or 2014.
They have already undergone detailed environmental impact reports and signed interconnection agreements with the local authority last year.
The three arrays – which will be built in partnership with the solar arm of Spanish engineering, procurement and construction giant Gestamp – will cover 1,700 acres (690 hectares) of “low-productivity farmland” and generate enough electricity for about 100,000 homes in California.
