The ZephIR Dual Mode (DM) technology, a continuous-wave wind lidar, scans from 10 metres out to as far as 300 metres ahead – where conventional models provide only a “pillar-box” view of the oncoming wind – to collect measurements used to correct yaw misalignment, take turbine calibrations, calculate power curves, and for full turbine control.
“The effective operation of our renewable energy generating assets such as the Lincs Wind Farm is key,” says Centrica performance manager Martin Stanyon.
