It’s the fourth storage project since 2009 for the company in Hawaii, which has the highest electricity prices in the country.

Xtreme, based in Texas, also recently switched on a 1MW system at the Solar Technology Acceleration Center in Aurora, Colorado, that will test the integration of solar generation and energy storage technologies. In partnership with utility company Xcel Energy, the system will be tasked with smoothing and shifting solar energy output, and mitigating for errors in solar energy generation forecasts.
