Taiwan’s civil aviation authority is opposing Wpd’s Guanyin offshore wind project, citing flight safety concerns due to its closeness to the island’s Taoyuan International Airport that serves the capital Taipei.
The standoff could block final permits by the economics ministry for the far-developed project that is supposed to be operational in 2022, triggering the ire of international investors in the island’s nascent offshore wind industry.
