French floating wind pioneer Ideol and compatriot maritime contractor Atlantique Offshore Energy (AOE) have unveiled the details of the world’s first “market-ready” floating substation.
The SeeOS, developed since its ‘on-paper’ launch last year in cooperation with power technology giant ABB, is based on Ideol’s ‘damping pool’ platform for both bottom-fixed and floating offshore wind farms in waters of 40 meters and more.
