Marine renewable energy developer Simply Blue has brought in transitioning oil & gas contractor Wood to run the rule over a range of floating wind concepts for its gigascale Western Star project in the Irish Atlantic.
Wood said that it will take a “lifecycle approach” to its front-end engineering design for the development that incorporated capital expenditure, construction costs and operational costs, with an eye of reduction of the project’s levellised cost of energy.
