The EDPR-led consortium developing the 25MW WindFloat Atlantic (WFA) floating wind array off Portugal has landed almost €100m ($115.4m) in new finance to bring the landmark project into operation.

WindPlus – made up of Portuguese utility EDPR, Spanish energy company Repsol and US technology designer Principle Power – announced it had been awarded a €60m loan under the European Investment Bank’s (EIB) InnovFin programme, along with a further €29.9m from the EU’ s NER300 scheme and €6m from the government of Portugal’s Carbon Fund.
