European wind capacity will double by 2030, hundreds of thousands of new jobs will be created, and billions of additional euros contributed to GDP – but only if national governments reform their policies and regulations in synch with their energy and climate pledges, WindEurope said in its latest flagship report.

If all wind power foreseen in National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs) by the EU27 member states plus the UK are built, capacity will reach 397GW by 2030 (up from 197GW today), the industry group said in its report ‘Wind energy and economic recovery in Europe'.
