The first offshore wind farm to deploy 9.5MW turbines that are among the world’s most powerful in service has been fully commissioned off Belgian after completion in the face of storms and coronavirus disruption.
The Parkwind development consortium’s 219MW Northwester 2 is now supplying the Belgian grid with electricity generated by all 23 MHI Vestas V164 9.5MW machines – the model’s first commercial deployment.
