An offshore wind farm set for majority ownership by oil giant TotalEnergies has received a key permit from the Danish Energy Agency (DEA).

The DEA issued a construction permit for the 165MW Lillebaelt Syd project close to the city of Soenderborg, paving the way for the wind farm to enter service in 2029.

Co-developers European Energy and Danish utility Sofor earlier this year struck a deal with TotalEnergies that will see the French supermajor take a 72.2% stake in the project subject to regulatory approvals.
